How to Set Up the Registry of Your Dreams
Setting up a wedding registry can be a fun wedding task, but it can also feel overwhelming! Are you looking for some tips on how to set up the wedding registry of your dreams? Look no further.
Know What You are Looking For
There is no rule that says you have to take the traditional route and register for a blender! If you are not looking for kitchen appliances but really want some camping gear, register for a tent! There is nothing wrong with personalizing your registry so it fits you and what you will use. Your friends and family want to give you what you will truly want and love.
Timing is Everything
Don’t put off your wedding registry! It is totally okay to create your registry the day after you get engaged. You want to make sure and have it completed in plenty of time ahead of the engagement party, showers, and save-the-dates/wedding invitations. You want to have your registry completed as soon as guests start finding out about your wedding since they will likely want to know where you are registered right away!
Perks? Did Someone Say Perks?
Certain retailers offer a ‘completion program’ for your registry. Anything left on your list after your wedding will be available for you to purchase at a slightly discounted rate (10-15% off). Ask a sales rep or do some digging to find the retailer that will help you get everything you are looking for! This being said, you do not have to only choose one retailer. Giving your guests a manageable number of options will give them freedom to choose where they get your gift!
Register Together
Because your registry is for the both of you, make sure and make your decisions together. Make it a fun experience to walk around the store together picking out items as a couple! Choose things you will both enjoy — things that will be mutually beneficial. Registering together will also help you be more mindful of all your guests. You each might think of items at different price points that certain friends or relatives would love to provide.
Don’t Forget to Say “Thank You”
Handwritten thank-you notes are a gracious way of showing your guests how much you appreciate not only their gifts — but also the effort and thought they put into buying you something AND attending your wedding.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, by the way. I hope I can be there to capture it! Book us here.
